Chamber Music (Small Mixed Instrument Groups)

starting the week of October 1st

all ages, instruments, and levels welcome!

Registration Closed for fall semester

WHY study chamber music? Unlike solo playing or playing with a conductor, students learn how to listen and respond to each other for timing and balance, and they learn to negotiate their interpretive choices as a group. This is one of the most important and powerful ways to grow as a musician. Students enrolled in this chamber music class will be placed in chamber music ensembles (duos, trios, quartets, etc.) with other students at a similar level.

Overview:

Students will receive 8 group lessons with LAM faculty between October 2023 and February 2024. They are also encouraged to rehearse on their own between! Group lessons are scheduled on Saturday afternoons. The semester will end with our Student Showcase, held at the Speed Art Museum on Sunday, February 11.

Program Cost: $250*
