Carol Webb Sortomme
After graduating from Juilliard, Carol was the first female violinist in the New York Philharmonic.
She retired in 2016 after a 39 year career.
Shyama Iyer
Shyama is an emerging Indian-American writer, composer, and choreographer who works most often in live Theater settings. Her expertise lies in the cross-cultural play between classical Indian and Western performance traditions.
Steven Plank
A graduate of the University of Louisville and Washington University St. Louis, Steven played with the Louisville Orchestra before becoming the Andrew B. Meldrum Professor of Musicology at Oberlin College-Conservatory of Music.
Michael weis
Michael graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Economics. He is now an accomplished data scientist, busy husband and father whose three children currently take piano lessons at LAM with faculty member Gary Pearson.
Kaylynn Li
Kaylynn (she/they) is a junior studying Violin Performance and Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester. Most recently, she became a Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Fellow of 2024 under the Eastman Institute for Music Leadership.
