Students work together to develop music for a story. In class, we will discuss, improvise, write and listen while creating a score for a favorite children’s book. Pick your own schedule; each class stands on its own, as we will read a different book each time!

“In this group, children listen to a story accompanied by live piano. Using the musical ideas they hear, students will work together to find additional ways to describe the ideas, the characters and the places in the story. They will use percussion instruments and sounds they find.
By the end of the session, students will be able to talk about music and how it connects to ideas and feelings, experiment using different sounds, and play in a group together to create a soundtrack.”
