Stephanie Hile (she/her)
Oboist Stephanie Hile is an active performer and dedicated educator. She is currently based in Louisville, Kentucky, and performs frequently as a substitute oboist with the Louisville Orchestra, CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra, and is a substitute musician with the New World Symphony. In addition, she has appeared alongside The Cleveland Orchestra during the Kent Blossom Music Festival. She recently won a section oboe position with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra.
Stephanie’s passion for performance has led her to prestigious festivals such as the Kent Blossom Music Festival, and to masterclasses with renowned artists such as Frank Rosenwein, Keisuke Wakao, Mark Ostoich, Bede Hanley, and members of the Imani Winds. Her skill has been recognized with honors such as the John Mack Scholarship in Oboe at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and her chamber ensemble recently won first place at the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Milhaud Competition.
Equally committed to education, Stephanie serves as a sectional instructor for middle and high school programs across the Louisville area. She was previously a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the oboe studio and woodwind department at the University of Louisville, and she has served as the oboe instructor for the University of Louisville Summer Wind Band Institute since 2022. She is also the oboe instructor for the Louisville Youth Wind Symphony.
Stephanie earned her Professional Studies Diploma at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Jeffrey Rathbun and received additional instruction from Frank Rosenwein. She completed her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees at the University of Louisville, where she studied with Dr. Jennifer Potochnic.
