Piano is perhaps the most versatile and frequently studied instrument in modern history. Basic piano skills are part of a well-rounded music education, and knowledge of piano transfers to many other skills. Knowing the ins and outs of the piano can be tricky, especially if it isn’t your primary instrument. In this class, we will learn techniques and guidelines to use when writing music for piano. Through these 8 weeks, each student will compose an original piece which will be performed and recorded by a professional pianist at the end of the session.
