Choosing an instrument can be a life-changing decision. A musician may spend decades playing an instrument they didn’t know anything about the first time they held it. Occasionally, fortune favors the student and a good match comes by chance, but a little research can go a long way in finding the right instrument.

At this weeklong camp, students will have in-depth and hands-on experiences with every instrument family - percussion, strings, woodwinds, brass, and voice - guided by experts on those instruments. Each day of camp features a different group of instruments that students will hear, play, and spend enough time with to really understand. Students will learn a simple song on every instrument, and play their favorite at the end-of-camp showcase concert. Following this experience, students will be able to make an informed decision when joining their school band, orchestra, or choir, or starting lessons and be more likely to have a positive musical experience on an instrument they’ve already met.

Students who have already started an instrument are also welcomed! This will be an informative and fun camp for everyone, regardless of experience. Find more details and a sample camp day HERE.
