The music of video games has quickly become one the most recognized and familiar genres of music across generations and cultures. This music shapes stories, evokes emotions, conjures memories, and plays a unique role in a medium that combines multiple artforms and cultural ties. In this course we will study the most successful video game music and learn how to create our own music that accomplishes the same goals through the use of computer software and compositional techniques. Some music experience is needed, but beginners to composition and digital music are welcome.
